Anxiety, OCD, or PTSD?

The DSM-5 splits these into three separate families — anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, and trauma- and stressor-related disorders — yet all three run on anxiety. Read each case and tap the disorder it fits. The mind-map shows where each one pulls attention: toward the future, around a loop, or back to the past.

Where is the mind pulled?

A mind sits at NOW. Your answer reveals where the disorder tugs it — ahead to the future, around a loop, or back to the past.

Quick frame: Anxiety looks to the future (“what if?”), OCD is stuck in a present loop (obsession → compulsion → brief relief), and PTSD is pulled to the past (re-living a trauma). It is a teaching heuristic, not a hard rule — but it sorts most cases fast.
