The Big Five Profile

Modern personality psychology describes people not with rigid “types” but with five broad dimensions — the Big Five, or OCEAN. Everyone falls somewhere along each one. Slide the five traits below and watch a profile take shape on the radar; tap a trait to read what its high and low ends mean.

Your profile shape

Each spoke is one trait from 0 to 100; the shaded shape is the whole profile.
Roots: distilled from Allport & Odbert’s trait words and the factor studies of Tupes & Christal (1961), named the “Big Five” by Lewis Goldberg and measured by Costa & McCrae’s NEO‑PI‑R.

OCEAN (or CANOE) is the standard mnemonic. Remember: these are continuous dimensions, not boxes — and a high or low score is never automatically “better,” just different.
