Modern personality psychology does not sort people into fixed “types.” It uses five broad dimensions instead: the Big Five, or OCEAN. Everyone falls somewhere along each one. Slide the five traits below and watch a profile take shape on the radar chart. Tap a trait name to read what its high and low ends mean.
Your profile shape
Each spoke is one trait, from 0 to 100. The shaded shape is the whole profile. Where it came from: Allport and Odbert listed thousands of trait words. Tupes and Christal (1961) found five clusters in them. Lewis Goldberg named them the “Big Five.” Costa and McCrae measured them with the NEO‑PI‑R.

OCEAN (or CANOE) is the usual memory aid. Remember: each trait is a sliding scale, not a box. A high or low score is not automatically “better.” It is just different.
