The postanaesthesia care unit is a one-to-one airway unit that also happens to manage pain and nausea, and its priorities run exactly as ABC predicts. Take a bay, read the monitor, and choose the next action at each beat. Wrong moves do not simply score wrong — the clock advances, and the debrief tells you what the delay bought the patient.
