Med-Surg Nursing II · Module 2 · Thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and pituitary

Thyroid, Parathyroid, Adrenal and Pituitary Lab

Break a gland or a pituitary and read the paired labs, practice as many questions as you like at three levels, race the clock sorting findings, and reason through bedside scenarios with fictional patients. Nothing here is graded.

Part 1: Axis Explorer

Teaching modelA simplified feedback model, not a patient. Turn the pituitary or the gland up and down, add a rogue (autonomous) source, or add a drug, and watch the trophic and target hormones settle to a new balance. Reference ranges: TSH 0.4 to 4.0 mIU/L, free T4 0.8 to 1.8 ng/dL, morning ACTH about 10 to 60 pg/mL, 8 am cortisol about 5 to 23 mcg/dL (labs vary).
