Vital Signs Lab

Take a blood pressure the right way and watch every technique error move the number, practice vital sign questions at three levels, race the clock to sort findings into expected, report or call now, and reason through real life patient situations with fictional adults. Nothing here is graded.

Part 1: Explorer, Blood Pressure Bench

Teaching modelEach fictional patient has a true blood pressure. Your setup adds error the way the chapter describes: a cuff too small reads high, an arm below heart level reads high, crossed legs, talking and an unsupported back add points, fast deflation drags systolic down, and inflating too low can hide the systolic inside an auscultatory gap. Error sizes are rounded illustrations.

Your jobSet up each patient so the reading lands within 3 mm Hg of the true pressure. Then finish the challenges by making specific errors on purpose and watching what they do.
