A good chat message is one message that names the ask in the first line, brings the thing it is about, and spends other people’s attention on purpose. Pick a broken message, flip the repair moves one at a time, and watch the notification count, the minutes of paid attention and the number of rounds move with every fix.
1 · Pick a broken message
Every one of these is a real pattern. Read what goes wrong before you start repairing.
2 · Repair moves
Greyed-out moves are not this message’s problem — part of the skill is knowing which fix you need.
3 · What actually gets sent
The grey bubbles are what comes back. They are the cost of the message you wrote.
