The adrenal glands sit on top of the kidneys. The cortex makes corticosteroids, which are cortisol and aldosterone. Too much gives Cushing's. Too little gives Addison's. The medulla makes adrenaline, and a tumor there is a pheochromocytoma. Click each one.
The signs on the body

What's happening
Never stop steroids all at once! Long-term oral steroids shut off the body's own cortisol. A sudden stop leaves a gap before the body starts making it again → an Addisonian crisis. Always taper the dose. (Feedback check: an adrenal tumor making its own cortisol drives CRH and ACTH down. A failed adrenal gland drives them up.)
