The Vessel Root Untangler

Vessels get a general root and several specific ones, and three of them sit three letters apart in three different body systems. For each term: first name the combining form it is built on, then name what the whole term means. Two right answers in a row on the same term keeps your streak alive — and every answer tells you why the near-miss root would have been wrong.

How to use this. Say the root out loud before you click. ar-TEER-ee-oh is artery, ATH-er-oh is fatty plaque, AR-throh is joint. Students lose more points to those three than to any other trio in the chapter, and the fix is muscle memory, not cleverness.
